Sunscreen shields our skin from UV damage, yet our eyes require light to operate, meaning some ultraviolet radiation inevitably reaches them. The eye's internal structures absorb much of this radiation without injury, but prolonged or intense exposure can still cause harm and raise the likelihood of developing certain eye conditions.
Cataracts represent one of the most well-known threats from UV exposure. This condition involves clouding of the eye's natural lens, gradually making vision appear misty and blurred over time.
